The helpful, polite staff were a bright spot, and the free shuttle to Sorrento runs at limited times. There's also a free ride down to Maya Beach resort. Maya Beach was clean and pleasant, with lovely views. The car park was a good place to watch the sunset. The hotel is cheaper than staying in Amalfi or Positano, which are close enough for day trips. We enjoyed an organised ferry trip to both. Still, I wouldn't stay here again. My partner and I spent three nights at Vista Di Capri Hotel, and wished we'd paid extra for Maya Hotel. We booked a double room with a terrace, sea view, and access to the vip Maya Beach resort, but the view was barely visible. The room was a decent size, though shabby and in need of refurbishment. Photos on the booking site looked much newer. There was a bad smell as soon as we entered, likely from the mosquito repellent, which didn't help. Mosquitoes got in through gaps in the doors or walls, and by the end we'd each been bitten more than 20 times on our bodies and faces. I'd killed at least 15. The bites were sore, itchy, and painful. Cleanliness was questionable too: there was hair on the walls and on towels that were meant to be clean. Restaurant options around the hotel and at Maya Beach resort were limited. The resort food seemed overpriced, with club sandwiches and crisps costing 20-25 euros and a Coke 5 euros. Hotel breakfast was the same each day and barely had anything edible; one morning we were given a dirty fork. A ten-minute taxi ride from Sorrento town centre covers just three miles but costs 40 euros each way, which felt like gouging. The hotel is listed as three stars, which seems generous, and reception was unattended on several occasions.

The staff at breakfast were great, and the breakfast itself was very good. We could also see Capri from our room. The room was fine, though nothing special. I can't rate the hotel higher because the Wi-Fi didn't work in room #419, and nothing was really done to resolve it.

We left four days before our booking ended after finding hair in the bathroom and throughout the bed, including inside it. The bathroom towels were stained, and mold in the A/C vent explained the musty smell. When we asked to switch rooms, we were told none were available and to speak with the head manager at the front office at 7am. We showed up then, but he wasn't there. They refused to accept responsibility or offer any refund or compensation. A terrible place to stay.

A miserable experience in every way.
