The restaurants serve good food, and the support team does a great job with childcare and all the activities. There can almost be too much going on, so don't expect much peace and quiet. That's the feel of this place, so it's worth knowing before you book. The pools are great, and the setting is priceless, with lovely views wherever you take a photo. The apartments could use an update, though, and there's no internet in the rooms.

The setting is beautiful, but I wouldn't stay longer than two days. We expected more after seeing the photos. We booked a small house for four and asked for four loungers at the pool, but they would provide only two per apartment and wanted to charge for the other two. That makes no sense. The food wasn't very good either. Better to eat at a nearby restaurant.

The place has a real Tuscan feel and is a great establishment. The main drawback is that the rooms don't have air conditioning. I was told that's common at farmhouse-style hotels across Tuscany, and maybe Italy in general. In August the temperature falls to 24-25°C at night, so it wasn't an issue then, but during the day at 35°C it was a problem.

Sandra at reception made settling in much easier. She was friendly and helpful, and seemed the most confident speaking English, which helped us sort out a few issues. Since we had no car, she arranged a taxi to the nearest train station and even went out to buy suncream for us. We were traveling through Italy and her kindness really meant a lot. I hope she knows we noticed and appreciated it. The remote location did make getting there without a car quite difficult.
