Residence Il Fortino

The pool was a real plus, large and spotless, though there were lots of mosquitoes around it. Our apartment in the historic villa was spacious, set in a lovely, well-kept park with mature trees. It was cleaned every day, and the staff were very friendly and helpful.

We were left shaken for the rest of our stay, and I hope the tall trees in a park used for tourist accommodation are managed more carefully in future. During a severe storm, a large pine fell onto our bungalow. The structure held, though the roof was damaged. A few days earlier, another tree had already fallen, despite there being no storm. They moved us to a slightly smaller bungalow after a few hours, but meanwhile we had to stay in the one with the tree on top. The discount for all this was €4.

Getting to the beach is easy, with pedestrian access along the eastern seafront practically across the road. The residence has an ancient villa with suites and bungalows set in its magnificent garden beneath tall trees. I’m in a beautiful contemporary-style suite, and housekeeping has been impeccable every day, like a 4-star hotel. There’s a pool, children’s playground, solarium, and plenty of outdoor space. The staff are very friendly and helpful. A very distinctive 4-star residence, recommended if you like this kind of holiday.

I was doubtful because this was my first time staying in a bungalow, but I ended up having a wonderful week. It’s peaceful and works for children and adults, with all the comforts you need. I hadn’t expected daily cleaning in a house, but they do clean every day. The week flew by. I highly recommend it!
