We only booked this as a cheap emergency stop, but were really glad we did. The hotel itself is basic, though the gardens, pool, and lakeside setting make the place much nicer. The food was the best we ate on the whole trip, and cost half as much. There's even a very cute, tame duck that spends time in the pool, if swimming with ducks sounds appealing.

Breakfast was lovely, and we enjoyed the reasonably priced, delicious dinner menu. The gardens have hammocks where you can stretch out, and the setting among the Italian village has stunning views, even though the hotel is well out in the countryside. Reaching it in our tiny Fiat Panda was a bit tricky. We had a fantastic stay and would definitely come back.

The room was chilly, and the food was only OK. Of all the meals I had during my two weeks in Italy, this was the one I rated lowest. We went somewhere else for a drink afterward.

This place is loud and not relaxing. There's noise from grass cutting or leaf blowing throughout the day, and in the evening I can hear everything from the restaurant. Construction noise wakes me up every morning, even before 8:00.
