Amaranto B&B

We really enjoyed our stay and felt right at home. We only spent one night here in early October, two adults and a child, while visiting Matera. We had the whole flat to ourselves, which was great. The room was comfortable, the bed was good, and it had everything we needed. It’s a calm spot, a little away from the center, so you can enjoy the sunset over the hills. Breakfast was really good, with croissants and bread from Matera. We’d hoped to try the pool, but it was too cold in October, so we’ll have to save that for another time. Antonio was lovely and always available if we needed or wanted anything. Thanks again, Antonio, for welcoming us, arranging our Matera tour, and driving us into the center so we wouldn’t have to park the car there. Take care.

Antonio made us feel at home right from the start. He was warm and helpful, offered useful advice about the area, and drove us around so we didn’t need to use our car. He was always available without ever getting in the way. Thanks for your hospitality, Antonio. I’ll definitely come back! The B&B was quiet, welcoming, spotless, and carefully maintained. My room was spacious and comfortable, with a well-equipped private bathroom. Breakfast was generous, with a good range of fresh local food, and the service was attentive. Antonio went out of his way to make our stay special, and he really succeeded. He welcomed us like friends, picked us up from his private parking lot in a quiet, safe neighborhood, drove us to see the Sassi, and showed us another side of Matera along the way. The room was magnificent and thoughtfully arranged, and the bathroom was practical and well equipped. Breakfast was superb, with very fresh local products he’d picked up that morning. We were so glad to end our week of exploring with a stay in Matera and with Antonio. He made the place feel like another level of visit. He’s attentive to what guests need and wants them to be happy there, rather than just handing over a key from a lockbox. The rooms are very comfortable, and the breakfast is sumptuous, with local items he personally picks out each morning, including warm ricotta. We enjoyed it with a view of the Basilicata countryside. The accommodation is outside the city center, which gave us the quiet we needed to recharge, and there’s convenient parking in his private lot.
