Marilu B&B

The owner was especially kind, and there was lots of parking right outside. My room was spacious, cool enough that I barely used the air conditioning, and kept spotlessly clean. I also appreciated the modern furniture and new bathroom. Matino is a small, charming village that I hadn’t known before, and the B&B is well placed for the Maldives of Salento and, a little farther away, the lovely beaches at Porto Cesareo, Punta Prosciutto, San Pietro in Bevagna, and Torre Lapillo.

The location makes it easy to explore Salento, though be careful with Google Maps: its directions can take you through the center, where you might get stuck. The place is modern, clean, and welcoming, and the owners are helpful. Breakfast is delicious, often with Lecce pastries. I’d happily recommend it, and we’ll definitely come back.

We came away loving the care they put into keeping everything clean and attending to the details. Ilaria treated us to delicious cakes at breakfast, and the owners were very helpful. It’s a wonderful base for discovering Salento, which has plenty to offer beyond the sea. Highly recommended.

It’s a little tucked away, but that made it comfortable, and it wasn’t too far out of the way. I stayed three nights, and the couple who live there were friendly and kind, with good tips for places to see and restaurants. The property itself is new, clean, comfortable, and well managed. I’ve already been back and plan to return again. Highly recommended.
