Hotel Apeneste

At least the place was very clean, but the stay was a disaster. The decor and furniture looked straight out of the 80s and weren't well maintained, and the beds were incredibly uncomfortable. I had asked for a sea-view room since that was offered as a choice, but got one facing another building instead. The toilet leaked onto my feet whenever I flushed. When I asked to move, they said maintenance wasn't there and they'd repair it the next morning. I was leaving then, so I asked again and got a slightly better room. It had no refrigerator, though, and the air conditioning smelled faintly musty and barely cooled the room. The hotel photos don't match the place.

Breakfast was decent, and the room was a reasonable size, but I wouldn't stay here again. The staff seemed completely indifferent and weren't helpful or hospitable. The rooms weren't cleaned properly, and the pool needs a full overhaul. Our bathroom was tiny, windowless, very old, and had awful fixtures. The TV didn't work, the rooms were extremely hot, and there was no elevator. Not recommended.

The town center is an easy walk, with lots of good restaurants along the main street. The sea is a few kilometers away, and public shuttles can get you there too. The rooms are a bit dated, but they're clean and air-conditioned. Breakfast has a great mix of sweet and savory food, there's a pool, and the staff are friendly and helpful. Good value for money.

The pool attendant was especially impressive, very professional and attentive to every detail, and constantly cleaning everything. He's a real asset to the property. We had a great time here, with a good location and breakfast.
