Leonardo Casa Vacanze

A friend who's been coming here for twenty years recommended the place. After arriving, I understood why. Leonardo is a lovely person, refined, helpful and kind, and staying here felt like being at home. Our place was a small villa with a double bedroom, a twin bedroom, a sofa bed in the kitchen, a bathroom, a large terrace with a Pompeian fireplace where we ate all our meals, and a small garden with a big olive tree. It was clean and had every comfort, including air conditioning, though the breeze is usually enough. The village sits among olive trees and looks out over the sea in a charming little bay. It's great for snorkeling, and there's a little sandy beach just behind the promontory on the left. Steps lead down to it and are lit at night. The whole setting is enchanting. The campsite restaurant and pizzeria are worth a stop. Everything was authentic and delicious, especially the fried fish, paposcia and pizza. The small beachside restaurants and bars are also delicious places to dine by the sea. I'll definitely come back. Highly recommended! 🙂 🙂 🙂

I've fallen in love with this place, and although I usually don't return to places I've visited before, I think I'll make an exception. The sea is gorgeous, with clear, clean water, an organized beach with both free and private areas, and breathtaking sunrises. Maybe it's also because listeners of popular radio come here, which gives the place a special feel. You get the comforts of home alongside a campsite atmosphere where people share, greet each other and chat. Leonardo is a special person, always there if you need anything, even just to say good morning. In the little square among the houses, a small evening party is held once a week when possible, with traditional songs and dances. The musicians are very talented and play mandolin, guitar, tambourine and accordion.

I've been coming here every year since I was born, and it still offers something new each time. You can stay in bungalows or villas, and the sea is fantastic, with Gargano caves nearby to explore by pedal boat or boat. There's music in the little square by the large bar and restaurant every evening for adults and kids. Just watch out on the beach: it isn't all sand, and there are definitely rocks, so bring flip-flops.

We found out about Mattinatella through Radio Popolare Milano, and I left my heart there. Leonardo is kind and empathetic, and makes you feel at home from the moment he welcomes you. The simple brick houses among the olive trees are clean and comfortable. Meals on the veranda are a pleasure, with a convivial feel that makes it easy to talk with the other guests. The weekly traditional music festival draws you into the warm hospitality Leonardo offers so joyfully. His private beach, with loungers and umbrellas facing a breathtaking sea, is an added bonus. The surroundings are fantastic, and Gargano is a wonder to discover.
