Hotel Dolce Stella

We spent two weeks here and had wonderful weather, delicious local Calabrian food and wine, and a very welcoming crew. The hotel manager is experienced and coaches the team exceptionally well. Everyone is keen to please. My breakfast cappuccino was the best I've ever had. The restaurant is outstanding. Everything is freshly made, using simple local ingredients, and the taste is heavenly. Half board or full board is worth choosing for the cooks' inventiveness with fresh produce, especially the seafood dishes and fresh pastas in summer. The rooms are simple but spacious, and cleaned thoroughly every day. This is the current manager's first year as managing director, in 2011, but everything he does shows his experience. Don't let first impressions put you off. Like many guests already do, we'll return, even if only to enjoy the food and wines of the Ciró.

The staff were really nice and helpful, and the rooms were clean. Breakfast was plentiful too. I definitely recommend it.

I've stayed at this hotel for three years, and I think of it as my place to relax. As soon as I arrive, the hospitality makes me feel at home. Everyone is kind and quick to respond to whatever I need. From the owner to the whole team in the dining room, kitchen and housekeeping, I'd give them a well-earned 9/10. This year's surprise was DANIELE, an exceptional lifeguard. He made us smile, and it was such a pleasure to find our umbrellas and lounge chairs ready each morning and the beach clean. Thanks again to all of you!
