Bed & Breakfast Marietta

We had a lovely chat with the friendly owners, and breakfast was generous, with sweet and savory options, juices, yogurt, and more. The place is handy for the parking lot, bar, tavern, and bakery. Our room was up two flights of stairs, along a small corridor. It had a queen-size bed, balcony, and a nice bathroom with everything we needed. Everything was super clean. There’s also a small refrigerator in the stairwell.

The owner made us feel very welcome and even greeted our large dog kindly, without any fuss. Our one-night stay was great, and we’d come back. The room was very clean, with a nice bathroom and all the essentials. Breakfast was a generous mix of sweet and savory. He was kind, helpful, and friendly, and I’d definitely recommend staying here.

BB Marietta is right in the center of the charming village of Melle, and the paved road makes it easy to reach. We stayed during the festival and still found parking not far away. So the complaints from Piera Pi and Piera Salzano about the narrow road risking your clutch and parking being far away are completely incomprehensible to us. The owners welcomed us simply and kindly, and did everything they could to make our holiday enjoyable. Breakfast was very good, with typical local products each morning. We booked two rooms for four people. My friends and I stayed for two nights while touring Monviso, and my husband stayed five. There are no TVs in the rooms, and one of ours had a somewhat small French bed, but that’s what the website says. The smaller room had a delightful balcony overlooking the village. The price was excellent for what we got. We highly recommend BB Marietta and would definitely return if we came back to Melle.

For €60, the place was fairly clean, but the room was cramped, small, and COLD, with no heating. Breakfast was best skipped. The welcome felt like we were a nuisance when my partner and I arrived, though they took our money straight away. The B&B is terribly run, with set times that they don’t stick to. Melle itself is pretty quiet, and the place has potential, which makes it a shame. I wouldn’t go back.
