Hotel Belvedere Mentana

It's peaceful up on the hillside, a good distance from the city, around 45 minutes from Rome. At night the sky is full of stars. The rooms are small but clean. WiFi costs extra, and honestly, it was pretty slow.

I've never stayed in a worse hotel. The design was the one good thing, but the curtains were broken and wouldn't close, WiFi cost €10 a day, and some rooms don't even get phone signal. There are signs everywhere saying you'll have to pay for any damage, which makes the place seem stingy. The TV looked like it was from the last century, and washing clothes in the room is strictly forbidden. It's a strange hotel in a remote location. Don't choose it or you'll regret it. 🙃

For a place advertised as four stars, this is awkwardly disappointing. It's far too expensive for such low quality, even if the rooms are more or less okay. Breakfast and dinner were terrible, with very little choice. Dinners cost a lot for poor quality and tiny portions, especially dessert. The waiters behaved disgustingly: they didn't ask guests about drinks and returned dirty cutlery. WiFi is another charge, €4 an hour or €10 a day. Some rooms also have air conditioning that can't regulate the temperature.

Dinner came so quickly that I had to rush through it, and breakfast was tiny: two crackers in a packet and two croissants. The room was okay, but hadn't been cleaned after the previous guests. There was rubbish in the bin and in the shower, and the bed could've been better. Very disappointed. I won't be back.
