Bettina

The location on Lake Mergozzo is the hotel's big draw. Dining on the lovely lakeside terrace helps make the prices understandable, and the service, though a little slow, was still adequate. The Bettina annex rooms are clean and spacious, with a minibar and a balcony that has a wonderful view, though they don't look straight onto the lake like the rooms at the Due Palme Hotel. There's no air conditioning, just an old-fashioned fan. The white SIP landline in the room looked as old as the one I had at home about ten years ago. The room cost €140 a night with breakfast, which is steep. Breakfast was a letdown too, with few choices and pretty awful coffee from a vending machine.

You can use the private beach, where towels, lounge chairs, and table service from the bar are available. The Due Palme restaurant also serves excellent lunch and dinner at reasonable prices on its lake-view terrace. The hotel itself is in the village, just steps from the center, and the rooms are clean and well cared for. Breakfast is a generous, tasty buffet served outdoors on the Due Palme Hotel terrace. Definitely worth trying!

A small hotel in a great spot, with very friendly staff and excellent value. Breakfast could use scrambled eggs or a few more protein choices, though Italians do tend to like sweeter food. Still, highly recommended! 👍🏼

A quiet little hotel tucked away on a side street in Mergozzo. It works well for a stopover if you're riding a moped, but I wouldn't choose it for a two-week family holiday.
