A lovely spot to unwind among nature, olive groves, and vineyards. The hosts are kind and always ready to help.

This is a 16th-century Apulian farmhouse, a great place for families who want to experience the Salento countryside, away from the nightlife and the standardized hospitality of the best-known coastal resorts. The owner is friendly and helpful, and can suggest places to visit. Seasonal fruit and vegetables from the farm can be ordered directly from the owner. There are also dogs, cats, geese, and chickens, all well behaved. It makes a good base for exploring Salento and Matera. The sea is around a 15-20 minute drive away. Torre Guaceto is beautiful, though access is restricted because it’s a protected area; Pantanagianni is also lovely and you can drive right to it. The apartments are fully equipped. The ground-floor one has a distinctive vaulted living room ceiling, while the upstairs apartment has a large terrace for outdoor meals. The slightly retro furnishings give the place character.

The owner is very friendly, and the place could be wonderful, but it needs much better upkeep. It’s out in the countryside, so there are plenty of insects, and the 600-meter road in is dusty.

A peaceful place with convenient parking and a kind, very helpful host. The rooms are spacious and full of character. This is a beautiful historic farmhouse in the countryside, yet very close to the center of Mesagne.
