Hotel Giosuè a mare

The sea views from the clean rooms were great, but the bathroom was tiny. I could only use the shower by standing sideways. The friendly staff and lovely setting of the breakfast room and restaurant made up for it, and the breakfast itself was great. Parking felt adventurous, though the staff kept a close eye on things, so it wasn't a problem.

The view across the sea is stunning, like looking at a painting, and the warm, authentic atmosphere made our stay feel special. Hotel Giosuè a Mare is a charming family-run Italian hotel, with staff who are attentive and so friendly that we felt at home. There's real hospitality and kindness here, along with all that Mediterranean beauty. We can't wait to return! Dorien & Loek 🕊

We had a beautiful stay, especially with the private beach and such kind, helpful staff. Parking was easy too. The only drawback was the distance from Sorrento town square. The hotel did run a shuttle each day from 5:30 p.m. to 11 p.m., which was nice. We chose somewhere outside downtown Sorrento because we had a rental car. Without one, we probably would've stayed downtown, but this was still a lovely hotel.

I booked one night through Expedia for October 11-12, but the confirmation came back for October 18-19, dates I couldn't have selected because I'm leaving Italy on the 18th. Expedia said the hotel didn't allow refunds and told me to contact the property. I went to the hotel in person the next day, and the receptionist asked me to email. I sent two emails and heard nothing back. The hotel ignored my messages and wouldn't help, even though the incorrect dates were still a week away. It showed a complete lack of communication and customer service. They avoid taking responsibility for Expedia booking problems and seem not to care once they've charged you. I lost some money, not a large amount, but honesty and service matter, and the hotel failed on both.
