The view of Lake Como from the restaurant and garden was lovely, even though we couldn’t see it from our room. We also appreciated the quiet location, away from the noise, and the atmosphere throughout the place. The rooms and shared spaces were stylish and spotless. Breakfast was fantastic, with great ingredients and herbs grown in their garden. The service was friendly and personal. I’ve stayed in hundreds of hotels, and this is easily one of the very best. Just go there.

The goat cheese with orange flambe sauce and black cabbage, pasta with fresh porcinis, and risotto with scallops and prawns were all delicious. Everything tasted fresh, mostly from their garden, and the sauces and flavors were thoughtful and well balanced. The service and ambiance were impeccable. It’s worth the extra trouble to get there.

We were staying nearby, and our apartment owner recommended this lovely family restaurant. It’s away from the main towns and takes a bit of a trek to reach, but the food, scenery, and service made the journey worthwhile. There were four of us, including two young kids, ages 8 and 5, and we all enjoyed it.

Everything was delicious. They make all the food in house, including many kinds of characteristic pasta, and source many ingredients locally. The restaurant is beautiful, and the staff are friendly, welcoming, and professional. They speak good English, and the menu is in both Italian and English.

We had dinner in the garden and could take in the views while we ate. The restaurant was five-star quality, and the Como region views were the best. Our apartment’s interior was absolutely beautiful, too. The host created such a nice atmosphere with a friendly welcome. Casa del Portico is one of the best B&Bs we’ve ever visited. We’ll definitely return and recommend staying here.
