My first impression of B&B Milano Ornato was less positive at night than it was in daylight. It’s in a residential neighborhood outside Milan’s main tourist areas, so anyone looking for luxury or picturesque surroundings may be disappointed. After spending some time there, though, I found the neighborhood active, accessible, and handy for public transit. I stayed in an economy single room. It was very small and basic, more like a low-budget IKEA showroom than a traditional hotel room. The bed was hard, with a simple IKEA-style single mattress and a flat sheet used as a fitted sheet. It was clean and functional, but comfort clearly wasn’t the priority. The room had what I needed for a short visit, and the property worked as a base for exploring Milan and nearby places like Bergamo. The staff were welcoming and helpful throughout my stay. Breakfast was the weakest part. For the extra cost, it didn’t feel like good value, and travelers might prefer one of Milan’s many cafés. This isn’t a luxury property, and I wouldn’t recommend it to clients looking for an upscale Milan experience. But for budget-minded travelers focused on sightseeing, it offers good value, helpful staff, and convenient transit access. It’s suited to solo travelers and short stays, and less suited to romantic trips or anyone wanting to stay in the historic city center. My rating: 7/10.

The location made getting into the city straightforward: the tram takes about 25-30 minutes to the center, and a direct bus to the train station takes around 20 minutes. Reception staff were polite, friendly, and always ready to answer questions, and they spoke good English. Our room was very clean, warm, and comfortable, with air conditioning and everything we needed. Housekeeping did an excellent job. Breakfast was very good too. We really enjoyed our stay, especially for the value.

The single room, number 425, made it hard for me to enjoy my stay. The window shutter wouldn’t close all the way, and with no night curtain, the streetlamp shone right into my eyes. Air conditioners outside the window made constant noise at night. A French bed could make the room more comfortable. The staff were lovely and happy to answer questions, breakfast was great, and nearby tram and bus stops made it easy to get to the railway station or city center. Still, I didn’t like my stay here.

I appreciated that the hotel takes water waste seriously. The room was clean and comfortable, and the staff were very friendly. Breakfast was inexpensive and absolutely worth it, with a variety of food, coffee, and drinks. I had a great stay and hope to return. Thank you!
