The hotel and rooms look gorgeous, and housekeeping came often and did a good job. The location didn't bother me much. If you know how to use the bus, getting around Italy is easy enough, and we visited central Milan and Como while staying here. The restaurant downstairs was awful and overpriced, though. Avoid it. There are places to eat a five-minute walk away, or Lidl is seven minutes away. I usually like DoubleTree hotels, but this stay left me frustrated by repeated refusals and poor communication. Some of the refusals were understandable, others questionable, but there were no solutions or attempts to help. I was told a promotion would make me a gold member with breakfast if I paid for this hotel. I was excited and had evidence of the conversation with hilton. When I arrived and spoke to hilton, they said I would only become gold after the stay. It was annoying, though I had thought the offer sounded too good to be true. The hotel didn't try to help or accommodate me, just said no. We had leftover pizza and asked if they could heat it, since there was no microwave in the room. They refused because it wasn't from their restaurant. That's poor customer service. I also wanted family members to join me in my room. I understand the capacity limit, but it seemed odd when similar rooms had four people. I was willing to pay, but they said I had to book another room. We did, and I expected to get points and nights credited to my hilton rewards. Then, one day before checkout, that room disappeared from my account, the keycards stopped working, and the payment was reversed. I later learned they'd temporarily cancelled it because they said the booking had to be under my family members' name, not mine. Once again, there was no help or communication. They took away the only thing I thought I was getting, my rewards. They gave me plenty of cookies, which was nice, but they were like bricks. In the hotel's response, there wasn't a single apology, and being told to familiarize myself with local regulations felt backhand insulting. I understand the points they explained, but refusing everything without offering a way to resolve it is bad service. I hope they listen to the feedback instead of saying they regret or appreciate it. Guests need a way to heat leftovers, and the hotel should communicate and fix a stay when confirming it instead of silently cancelling keycards on the last day.

A big thank you to the DoubleTree staff at this location for making my Olympics stay so welcoming and warm. The whole team was awesome. Special thanks to the two lovely guys at the front desk, one from Morrocco whose name I can't remember but think started with an A, and his bearded colleague, whose name I also didn't catch. I might be back in Milano for work in a couple of months, so see you again soon! Ciao!😉

The tram stop is just one block away, so getting downtown was easy, even though the hotel isn't near the tourist sights. We felt safe in the quiet neighborhood, and the evenings were peaceful. Thanks, DoubleTree Milano! We had a "suite" made up of two connected rooms, with the second room as a sitting area. Housekeeping was top notch, and the restaurant manager worked incredibly hard and deserves MVP. Breakfast was good, though the same every day, and we ate it four mornings. We had dinner twice and enjoyed both meals and the good service. Get the tasting dinner. The bartenders also make fine cocktails. I'm American. We stayed five nights during the Milan Olympics, surrounded by Swedes, Latvians, Czechs, and Canadians, all there for hockey. The skating fans must have stayed elsewhere.

The location is quite far from the center, though close to a tram, and the area isn't touristy. As a solo traveler, I might not feel as safe there in the evening. At check-in, the front desk lady nearly charged me again even though I'd prepaid, because she hadn't checked properly. Some bathroom fixtures were coming apart, and the duvet was just covered by two separate bedsheets, one on each side. For the price, the hotel felt very average and didn't meet my expectations. I won't consider staying here next time.

The hotel was clean and breakfast was good, but I had a terrifying experience in room 314 on October 29, 2025. My husband went down for breakfast and forgot his cellphone. I stayed behind to get ready and didn't have my own phone with me. Somehow I got trapped in the bathroom because the door wouldn't open. I pulled the emergency cord beside the bathtub, but nothing happened. I panicked, screamed, cried, and banged on the door, but nobody came. Luckily my husband returned and got me out. I'll never forget how frightening it was. I hope the hotel checks the emergency system so this can't happen to anyone else.
