Hotel Sunflower

Breakfast was passable for a three-star hotel, but there were empty trays, refills came late, and staff seemed to pay no attention. Parking is another issue: they say it’s available, but don’t make clear that it costs an extra €20 per day. That felt misleading. The rooms and location were somewhat decent. The rest was a disaster, starting at reception. The young man who greeted us spoke barely understandable English and came across as aggressive and hostile. His body language felt confrontational, and he didn’t show us where our room was. We got lost and had to go up and down twice before finding it ourselves. If someone dislikes dealing with tourists, they should find work that doesn’t involve guests. I usually leave positive, highly rated reviews because I want to encourage good service and help others find good experiences. Here, though, I can’t defend anything. It was without a doubt one of the worst hotel stays I’ve had, and I honestly feel sorry for the management.

The room was filthy hot, 32 degrees. I asked the older receptionist with glasses for help with the air conditioning, but he gave me a side eye and said it was off because it was 10 degrees outside. It was actually 17 degrees. The whole thing felt like a joke. They put me in room 510, on the top floor. The hotel is old and unpleasant, and the room wasn’t clean. Public transport access is the only good thing about it. Awful place, rude receptionist. I’ll never return, and I don’t know who gave them four stars.

Today was our first day here. It’s a very nice hotel, and with all the shops and markets beside it, you feel right at home.

We left our room cards at reception while we went out, and our purse with all our currencies was stolen. We were only there for one day. When we asked to see the CCTV footage, they refused. The staff were very rude and uncooperative. We’ve also filed a police complaint.
