We got a warm welcome, with lots of advice and help finding a parking spot. The room was large, clean, and well equipped in an apartment converted into a B&B. It has a beautiful open view of the port of Milazzo and is ideally placed beside the departures for the Aeolian Islands. Soundproofing is only average, though, and we could hear the other rooms quite a lot. Breakfast is served on the adjoining hotel's terrace, which is very pleasant, and we could also use the jacuzzi.

Breakfast was excellent on a lovely terrace, and the two ladies were very kind. The host also answered when we called and explained that tickets had to be bought at the betting shop just below, since there was no one at reception and no parking meter. Parking around the place was paid. The balcony view was disappointing: instead of the promised sea view, we mostly looked at the building opposite, with just a tiny glimpse of the sea and a view of the refinery. We also had a hard night because the street below was very noisy, with a pizzeria and scooters.

The port is only a few steps away, which makes this a handy base for trips to the Aeolian Islands. But the rooms need better upkeep, and the cleaning was poor. Finding hair on the bed and in the bathroom is unacceptable, especially during the COVID era. There’s no soundproofing either. At night, the neighbors’ TVs might as well have been playing in our room.

Breakfast on the rooftop terrace came with a lovely harbor view, and the buffet had a nice range of choices and was attractively laid out. The staff were friendly too. My room was clean, thoughtfully furnished, and personalized down to the details. I spent two nights here. It’s a very central aparthotel, just steps from the hydrofoil departure point for the Aeolian Islands. I’d happily return and recommend it.
