The rooms are decorated really nicely, and the breakfast area has a lovely view. But the rest of the stay was mostly negative. There’s no reception, and arriving late meant dealing with codes for the garage and rooms. Staff sent us a code for a room that was already occupied, which was total chaos and left us wondering about the security of our room. Then, at the end of the stay, we were charged €15 per bike instead of €15 for the car space, which was never what we’d agreed. It ruined our stay.

The port is close by, so B&B Upper made a handy base for trips to the Eolian Islands. Gloria was charming and very helpful, spoke perfect English, and the room service was excellent. The rooms are spaciously laid out and stylish, with parking in the building for €15 a day. Milazzo’s port area gets very noisy during the day, with engines, horns, construction equipment and sirens all making a racket. The rooms are on the fifth and sixth floors, so you hear much less inside. Closing the balcony door cuts the noise down well. We enjoyed our stay and can definitely recommend B&B Upper.

Gloria really goes out of her way to make the stay comfortable. She’s helpful with advice and support, and after a long day it’s a pleasure to come back to the room. The place was new, about two months old, when we stayed, with a fresh European style, clean rooms and a perfect location. I wish every place had service like this. If you need a place to stay in Milazzo, this is the one :)

Right across from the port, with great parking nearby, this is an ideal hotel if you're heading out on a tour of the Eolian Islands.
