Villa La Zagara

I don't often write reviews, but our stay at La Zagara made me want to share. My boyfriend proposed on the rooftop with a beautiful view of the Amalfi Coast, and Andrea and his family made the moment even more special with thoughtful arrangements. By the end, they felt like a second family. They were welcoming from start to finish and always ready to help us feel comfortable. Breakfast under the lemon groves became something I looked forward to each day, especially the fresh lemonade and the best cappuccino I had in all of Italy. We loved seeing their friendly dog Spot, too. The bed and breakfast is a short walk down some stairs to Minori's restaurants and beach. We liked Minori for being away from the crowds in the more touristy parts of the Amalfi Coast, and there's a ferry port nearby for visiting other places. Villa La Zagara will always be our place to stay when we visit the coast. If you're after an authentic experience, this is it. Thanks to Andrea, Salvatore, Nilde, and their dog Spot. We can't wait to come back in the future.

Breakfast beneath the lemon trees was such a treat, with fresh pastries, eggs, and a lovely atmosphere. The rooms were cleaned each day while we ate, and in the evenings the family would ask how our day had gone. One evening there was live music, and another time Salvatore shared stories about lemons, the area's history, and the secret to good limoncello. All the guests gathered to listen with a drink in hand. Nilde was always smiling and happy to chat, and Spot the dog was eager to say hello. Villa La Zagara is around a 6-minute walk to Minori, 10 minutes to Maiori, and about an hour's hike to Ravello, a great base for exploring the Amalfi Coast. Andrea also arranged our transfers, gave us clear directions to Minori, and checked that we were safely on our way. The family greeted us warmly when we arrived and showed us around, then made sure each day we had what we needed. From booking to departure, their service made this stay unlike any we'd had before. We've stayed in accommodations around the world, but this place gets first prize for service, location, and atmosphere. We'll be back!

Salvatore and Andrea were so welcoming and had helpful tips that made everything easy. The homemade lemonade and marmalade at breakfast were delicious and fresh. Villa La Zagara is peaceful and romantic, with a wonderful location in Minori. It really felt like staying at home, and deserves more than 5 stars.

After spending 5 days at Villa La Zagara, I’d recommend it to couples without children looking for an authentic Italian stay on the Amalfi Coast away from the tourist crowds. The small, cozy B&B sits on a hillside among lemon groves, with a view down to Minori, about a 10-15 minute walk away. The hosts greeted us with homemade lemon lemonade and invited us to a family pizza night, where we helped make the pizza and picked up some useful tips. The whole family was friendly and helpful, and it was easy to feel included.
