Appia-bed

The owner, or at least the only person we dealt with, was extremely kind, but the property was badly neglected. Getting to the hallway shared by the three rooms we rented meant passing through a run-down, dirty, gloomy building. There was no air conditioning, minibar, bathtub, or balcony. The single beds, including those in one of the rooms booked for two, were like postwar camp beds. My two-and-a-half-year-old niece normally sleeps anywhere, but she was so frightened that nothing would console her. After hours of crying, they went home in the middle of the night. We'd paid for the rooms weeks ahead through an online platform.

We spent 15 days there. The apartment was lovely, and its roomy terrace felt safe for my two cats. Valerio and his sister-in-law are kind, humble people. I'd recommend staying with them if you're looking to get away from city chaos and find a little peace for your mind and body.

The property is in a great spot and is being renovated now. With the owner's drive and enthusiasm, Valerio, it should become a great place. He's a kind, really helpful guy. If I'm back in the area, I'd choose Appia Bed again.

We couldn't check in until 6:30 PM because the owner hadn't made herself available earlier, so we had to put our dog in a kennel. The room was very noisy and filthy when we arrived, with layers of dust.
