Traditional sicilian home

We didn’t have a car and didn’t need one, since everything was easy to reach on foot. There are lots of hiking options nearby and beautiful green spaces. If you do drive, free parking is about 200 meters from the apartments, and there are many lovely places to visit within a few kilometers. The Turco family were incredibly welcoming and available if we needed help in an emergency. We spent four and a half months in one of the Heart of Sicily apartments, from March 2020 to mid-July, and have the best memories of our stay. The apartment was cozy, spacious, and impeccably equipped. The kitchen was bright, had a small balcony, and was spacious and convenient for cooking, with pots and pans in different sizes and practically everything we needed. The bedroom was downstairs, with a large double bed and a very comfortable mattress. It stayed cool in midsummer, so we didn’t need air conditioning to sleep. In winter, every room, including the bathroom, has heating that makes the place pleasantly warm. The location is excellent: less than 100 meters from Villa Garibaldi and 200 meters from the Sigma supermarket and Mistretta’s main street, where you’ll find bars, pizzerias, pharmacies, and little shops. Because of its altitude, Mistretta’s climate is considerably milder than in other parts of Sicily, and summer nights cool off and feel very pleasant. We’d recommend it!
