Central Hotel

We couldn't get a turn at the spa because it was busy the whole time, which was a letdown. The hotel itself felt welcoming and is well placed, with clean, tidy rooms and a generous breakfast. The staff kindly arranged free parking for guests in the town lot, but didn't mention that it uses Telepass. We ended up paying for three days. We asked for a refund, but it wasn't.

The room was tiny, and the toilet sat right behind the bathroom door, so opening the door from outside would hit whoever was using it. Breakfast had very little choice, and we found staff absent when we arrived. No one had told us to let the breakfast room know we had a dog, so we couldn't eat there. Guests with dogs use a separate room with only three tables. For our 3.5 kg dachshund puppy, we were charged €30 for two nights, on top of the tourist taxes, but weren't offered even a water bowl or dog bed. Given the four-star rating and very high price, we expected much better service. We stayed two nights at the Central Hotel in Moena and had an unpleasant experience. If you're staying in Moena, we recommend not choosing the Central Hotel.

The tower suite was spacious, bright, clean, and comfortable, with warm mountain-style furnishings and a lovely view of the Dolomites. The bed was incredibly comfortable, and the bathroom was functional. Our week at the Central Hotel in Moena was memorable, and the suite on the top floor made a great base right by the main square, with the village close at hand. The rooms aren't very soundproof, though. We could clearly hear neighboring rooms and sometimes the corridor, which might bother light sleepers. We made good use of the small, well-kept basement spa, with its sauna, Turkish bath, and emotional showers. Being able to book it for private use for a set time made it especially relaxing after a day in the mountains. Private parking was also very convenient in such a central spot, and included. Breakfast was generous, with fresh pastries, yogurt, fruit, and local products, though it got repetitive after a few days and the savory choices were limited. A little more variety would help. The reception staff were kind, professional, and happy to share tips for walks, restaurants, and activities. The price is above average, but we felt the location, comfort, and services justified it. Despite a few small drawbacks, we had a very positive stay.
