MoMa Molfetta Mare

The noise made it impossible for us to sleep. Sounds echoed through the building from very early in the day: plates slamming and glasses rattling for four hours in the morning, doors banging, the main door buzzer ringing, feet pounding up and down the metal stairs, furniture scraping across the floor, then the cleaner banging and knocking before using the vacuum. It honestly seemed as if staff were angry and deliberately disturbing guests, even banging on bedroom doors when the do not disturb sign was showing. The room also felt a little tired, with several damp patches and flaking paint on the walls, plus dirty edges in the bathroom. Before arriving, I contacted the B&B after reading several reviews about noise. I considered cancelling within the free cancellation period, but they assured me it wouldn’t be an issue and that I’d be given an upstairs room. That clearly didn’t happen. After acknowledging the problem, the B&B refunded one of the two nights we stayed.

We loved our five days at MoMa in Molfetta in early Autumn. The location was perfect, by the water in the prettiest part of town, and the room was wonderfully clean. The shower pressure was great, too. The rooftop terrace was a lovely bonus, and we spent many evenings watching the waterfront below. Breakfast had just enough variety, and the coffee machine made good capuccinos. There was no mobile reception in the ground floor rooms because the walls are so thick. Those walls also kept outside noise down, though, and the WiFi worked perfectly. Would recommend.

The rooms are clean. After spending 10 days of my holiday at Moma, I learned that the restaurant behind the wall of your room means you’ll be waiting to sleep until they finish work, usually around 1 am.

A great BnB find, with beautiful rooms and a lovely view of the harbor. It’s right in the heart of Molfetta.
