Hotel Des Alpes

The two pools, one indoors and one outside, are a real highlight, as is the location. It’s easy to get to the lake beach, the center of Molveno and other places of interest. Funny enough, parachutes land right in front of the garden! The staff were welcoming and helpful, and the hotel provides good service with functional rooms. They could use some renovation, but everything works.

Our room looked nothing like the pictures online. I was travelling with a hiking group of 25, and the dining room seemed to have two standards: package-tour guests got a reduced menu, while hotel guests got more. Our group was limited to one breakfast roll each, and the coffee was instant and lukewarm. The buffet only got expanded once the hotel guests arrived, after we had left. I saw this myself one morning when I wasn’t with the group. At dinner, the jug of water on the table was apparently for hotel guests only. We were expected to buy bottled water. We were sitting practically beside them and overheard it; when we asked, we were told the jug water was chargeable. Dinner was pathetic, sometimes truly awful quality, and mostly lukewarm. They brought out the courses so quickly we barely had time to breathe. Speed seemed to be the priority. I’ve never experienced such a poor standard and would never book here again. The area was beautiful, and the trip organizer did a good job, so I want to be clear that they weren’t to blame.

We hardly needed the car for our outings, since the bus stop is close by, and there’s plenty of parking in front of the hotel, which isn’t a given in Molveno. The staff and owner were friendly, and the location is excellent. Our room hadn’t been renovated, but it was very clean and looked out over Lake Molveno. The food was excellent, especially the superb breakfast. We also appreciated being served a jug of fresh local water at the table for free. Well done, everyone!

We had a room looking over the lake, and the view was spectacular. The wellness area was really beautiful, and the staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel was well kept, the food was excellent with plenty of choice, and the value was very good. We had a perfect week in a wonderful location. A lovely find, highly recommended.
