I came away knowing much more about Arianna’s cheese-making process and her natural, sensible approach to farming. She’s a lovely host, and I’d definitely recommend a visit.

Arianna’s English made the visit easy to follow, and she made sure our vegan child had a great meal alongside the rest of us. The tasting and lunch were wonderful, with a format and setting that let us really understand and enjoy the goat and sheep cheeses made with such care. We’d been to Pascoli di Amaltea before, but this summer visit with our grown children felt very different from our autumn one. I’d happily go back again. It was a pleasure to see artisan farming done so well, and there should be more people like Arianna.

The tasting was a real treat for us, both in what we learned and in everything we sampled. My wife and I booked it in early June 2024, then drove about 40 minutes from Serralunga through beautiful scenery to reach a stunning, pristine place that seemed untouched. We both admire Carlo Petrini’s slow-food movement, though we also have reservations about its approach to food access. Hearing this kind local family’s personal take on it made for a memorable visit. I’d love to return and experience it all again.
