Staying or dining at Villa Petrinum means experiencing a real Roman villa from the second century C.E. The building has been beautifully brought back to life, with modern amenities alongside its ancient charm. The views are incredible, and it’s easy to see why the Romans chose this magical spot. On weekends, the restaurant serves first class meals in a memorable setting, including the main dining room, a restored hall from the villa. The owners are a warm, caring, dedicated family who have worked hard to make the place one of a kind. At the sumptuous breakfast, which includes figs from the property, there’s even a table with your name on it. They take care of every need. I can’t wait to return. Highly, highly recommended. Simona made my stay wonderful, recommending places to visit and restaurants, and preparing a delicious breakfast. Villa Petrinum was my favorite place to stay on my travels down Italy’s eastern coast. The historic villa has been renovated beautifully, and it was comfortable, clean, and tastefully furnished. I came during the week, when the restaurant was closed, so I’ll have to come back.

Breakfast was delicious, with fresh local pastries, cereals, and fresh local fruit. Simone was so kind and caring, and couldn’t do enough for us. We stayed for two nights in June at this beautiful, small hotel. It was very quiet and peaceful, with a lovely room, a really comfortable bed, and a big, fully equipped bathroom. We’d stopped for a meal in 2022 and it was fantastic, but this year we stayed during the week, when the restaurant was closed. We’ll certainly stay there again next year on our travels.

The quiet made it easy to get away from the frantic pace of everyday life. From the moment you arrive, you’re warmly welcomed and given complete service. The clean, orderly rooms and property look out toward the imposing castle crowning the hill. The setting is wonderful, in a well located, well maintained city close to museums, palaces, and amenities. The air is pure, the view is unique, and the food is natural and suited to everyone. The staff are professional and friendly, and even extra requests are taken care of. I’ll definitely return, and recommend experiencing these magnificent moments.
