Europalace Hotel, BW Signature Collection

The morning view from our balcony was lovely, and we really enjoyed the balcony itself. Our room was very clean and the bed was perfect. Breakfast was the best part, with delicious food and so much choice for different tastes. Everyone was helpful and kind, from reception to the breakfast staff. Thank you for all your work!

There's a small restaurant open in the evening, and the guy running it is nice. The rest of this place is nowhere near 4-star quality. I've stayed here three times over several years for work, and the same issues keep returning. The Wi-Fi doesn't work in the rooms, so I end up using the lobby for internet. The entrance grate is still a trip hazard, and it injured a coworker years ago. Fire alarms sound in the middle of the night without explanation, and the power goes out around midnight at least once a week. Room doors often fail too: cards stop working, doors won't close, or handles come loose. On my last visit, there was black mold on the bathroom ceiling and thick dust on surfaces that clearly hadn't been cleaned. Mold even started growing on my girlfriend's shower scrubber. Breakfast is hit or miss, and sometimes they run out of eggs. For a Best Western, this is far below standard. I seriously doubt anyone from BW has actually visited this hotel.

My wife and I are grateful to everyone at this BW Hotel for making us feel comfortable and helping us get back to our hotel. We were on vacation in Italy and had rented an electric car from Italy rent a car at the Venice Airport. It was supposed to have a range of 300 km. The next day, we drove to Trieste, 120 km from our hotel, and found the battery was down to 42%. We couldn't make it back without charging. In Italy, you need an app to charge a car, and as Americans we couldn't download it on our phones. Luckily, the hotel let us use its charging station. The staff were extremely helpful and understanding while we waited. Charging from 24% to 59%, just enough to get back, took from 6:30pm to 12:am. We left the car plugged in at our hotel until the next day, then returned it to the rental company. My wife and I thank the staff for going out of their way for us. Thanks, George and Lise

We were there for just one night. The facilities were great, and the staff helped us choose somewhere for dinner and arrange a very early taxi to the airport.
