We were lucky to get a table for dinner on one of our last evenings in the area. The woman at reception kindly fitted us in for that night’s service, and we enjoyed every minute. The dining room is beautiful and authentic, and the traditional service was attentive. A local chef we met earlier that day had recommended it, and the restaurant lived up to its reputation. We’ll return whenever we’re back in Monforte.

We loved staying here while exploring the area’s wines and food. The views were amazing, the service was great, and everyone at the hotel and restaurant was friendly and helpful. The knife-cut tajarin with tomato sauce, basil and fresh herbs was a standout, especially for such a simple dish.

I had a lovely solo birthday dinner here. The food was delicious, and the service was warm and attentive. The terrace looks over the valley and nearby towns, with a magnificent sunset view.

Make a reservation ahead, especially if you’re coming on a weekend. This is a cozy, welcoming place for classic Piedmontese food, with staff to match. Their fresh spins on familiar dishes help the menu stand out in the region. The wine list can be a little tricky: there are great bargains and impressive older vintages, though some come at a price. Ask the knowledgeable staff and they can help you find something that works. Lovely views at lunch, too!

The town is picturesque, and shops and restaurants are easy to reach on foot. It’s also a perfect spot for wine tasting around Piedmont. We had a fantastic stay with friends, felt very welcome, and loved the food, rooms and service. We’ll definitely be back.
