The owners and staff are genuinely interested in how you enjoy the area, and they're exceptionally nice. We had a wonderful week at Hotel Dolomiten in Welsberg on half board, from arrival to departure. We can't imagine a better stay anywhere. The delicious food includes four daily dinner courses to choose from and a breakfast buffet with plenty of options. One of the owners is an excellent chef. White linen tablecloths and premium bedding are among the details that reflect the hotel's quality. A wonderful family-run place, A+. We hope to return, and I'd highly recommend it to solo travelers too. The location worked so well for us. It's a 5-7 minute walk to the small local train and bus depot. The town is a good size for walking or cycling, not too touristy, and shops and cafes are easy to reach. There's a lovely park and a cute honor-system mini-golf course across the street. Hiking and cycling routes start right at the hotel. The included transportation card gives free rides on local trains and buses, plus some extra benefits.

The team were friendly and accommodating, and helped us sort out logistics for our two-day hike on the Alta Via 1. We had a great stay at the family-run Hotel Dolomiten. Our room was spacious and clean, and dinner was excellent. It's also a handy base for hiking nearby, with lake braies about 15 minutes by car or 30 minutes by bus.

A family-run hotel just 100 meters from the Monguelfo railway and bus station in South Tyrol. The chef is also the owner, and the cuisine, hospitality, cleanliness, courtesy, and service are all top-notch for a 3-star hotel. A regular stop for hikers passing through the area.

It's pricey, but definitely worth it. The kitchen is the best compared with the other hotels around here. The cook owns the business and is completely devoted to cooking, driven by his passion. Best place in Monguelfo, Italy.
