The cleaner seemed lazy, there were big spiders in every corner, and the internet was really slow. The rug smelled like a wet dog too. Not a good stay.

We stayed in the Vera apartment, which was modern, spacious enough for five, and had everything we needed, including sheets and towels. The lake view was excellent, and we could get there on foot in about 10 minutes. We also really enjoyed the good-sized pool. The farmhouse is small, welcoming, surrounded by greenery, and wonderfully peaceful. Receptionist Michela made us feel at home with her warm, easy manner. She was always available and knew the area well, with lots of ideas for things to do, excursions and tastings. She also told us when the market was on and where to find the evening stalls. We felt like part of the family.

The grounds were beautifully kept, with a huge garden full of lovely plants. It’s a great spot, near town but still outside the city. Breakfast was delicious, and the owner was very friendly. Service was good, and the price felt fair. Our apartment, though, wasn’t very clean and the sofa was broken. The pool isn’t permanent, and I didn’t feel it was safe for children: the fence doesn’t close all the way, and the area around the pool is dangerous.
