The owner was helpful, and the wonderful lady next door made the stay feel special. The sea is nearby and you can sense it, though you can’t actually see it, which is a shame but not the property’s fault. The apartment is modern, set across two floors, and very well located, but there are some real drawbacks. In February the bedroom heater was enough because it wasn’t too cold, but with poor insulation and heating only in that room, winter could be difficult. The bathroom details in particular need better upkeep, there’s very little room for clothes or belongings, and the Wi-Fi was so slow that I had to work from a local bar. The kitchen is tiny and limited, though having it and a washing machine is still a plus. I also found several hairs under the sheets, and the worn mattress was uncomfortable. I’d say it suits young people who’ll spend most of their time out in summer and want to be in the historic center. It also has a very local style that visitors from abroad may enjoy. It isn’t perfect, but it could work for an Italian experience in southern Italy, with a distinctive place and very friendly local neighbors.
