Casa Sardella

We booked the house for two nights in Monopoli, but it turned into a night to forget. The house is beautiful, and everything seemed fine at first. When we came back from dinner, we found two finger-sized cockroaches on the ceiling. Water was leaking and had flooded the bathroom, there was a lot of humidity, and debris from the ceiling had fallen onto our bags by morning. We reported everything to the manager, but had to endure the first night, which ended without us making a reservation. The next day, the manager suggested we find another place, even though they had no other house available, and offered to refund only the second night, which we wouldn’t have used. After an unpleasant conversation where we had to negotiate the refund, they added €30 to the €120 we’d paid for a night spent awake, worried there might be more cockroaches. Shameful. They did offer us breakfast, and the receptionists were very kind and helpful. The manager on Booking.com then canceled our reservation as if we hadn’t shown up, so we couldn’t post a review. Will we return? NEVER!
