Il Melograno

Alessandra made our stay extra special with a lovely cooking class. She was kind, patient and knew her stuff, and taught us how to cook. We prepared and baked our food, then got to take it home along with the recipe. She also shared local recommendations that made the trip even better. Il Melograno is a beautiful, spotless and peaceful estate with only a few rooms, so it almost feels like the whole place is yours. Breakfast was rich, and dinner at the restaurant was very good too. The service was personal and excellent. We loved every moment and will definitely come back.

We were sad to leave Il Melograno when our stay ended. It was the first part of our honeymoon, and from check-in we felt relaxed, cared for and at home. Alessandra, Cosmara and Maria at reception were kind and welcoming every time we passed by. They helped with day trips and restaurant ideas, and arranged whatever we needed, from spa treatments to wine tastings. We also loved our meals in the morning and afternoon, with Oscar looking after us so attentively. He was always glad to see us, helped us practise Italian, and even stopped by to say hello when we weren't eating. Nicola, the sommelier, knows his wine and was fun to talk to. He helped us find what we liked and offered us a special tasting of a phenomenal Cabernet. After more than 20 hours of travelling, the calm atmosphere Miriam and her partner created at the spa was exactly what we needed. The massages, steam room and sauna left us feeling rejuvenated and ready to start our honeymoon. We spent time inside at the bar during the slightly cold, rainy weather on the first two days, and Massimo was friendly and fun company. I'd love to have him as a bartender back in the USA. He also shared helpful local tips and patiently listened as we practised our Italian phrases. We'd highly recommend staying at Il Melograno. We're so glad we found it for the start of our trip around Puglia, and can't wait to come back.

Vanessa and Miriam made our couples massage feel personal by first asking what pressure we preferred and which areas to focus on. The spa was spotless, with calming music and scents, and the massage was super relaxing. We left feeling completely refreshed. Definitely recommend booking a treatment here!
