For the price, this was good value compared with other nearby rooms. We were very happy with our room during our five-night stay as a pair. It was fresh and very clean, and the location put all the main sights just a few steps away. There was also a shared terrace one floor up. It looked very nice, though we didn’t spend any time there.
We stayed three nights in the Saint Lucia room at Chiasso Cafaro. It was beautiful, and the location was amazing, close to restaurants, shops, and waterfront views. The hosts responded quickly, and the air conditioning worked surprisingly well in Monopoli’s July heat. With just a few rooms, the B&B had a charming, Airbnb-like feel, and it let us enjoy a town that really comes alive in the evening. Monopoli feels magical. The shared terrace was lovely for unwinding at sunset. My boyfriend and I had it to ourselves both evenings. I’d definitely recommend staying here. A note for anyone who may have trouble with stairs: the building has steep staircases, as many places in Italy do. We were lucky that the Saint Lucia room was close to ground level, so we didn’t have to carry our things up the flights other guests would use. Parking took some figuring out. We rented a car as Americans, and the hosts suggested a free spot at a skate park. That route took us into a ZTL, or limited traffic zone, so we’ll probably get a ticket in the mail, though it was an honest mistake. We ended up paying to park near the fountain in the town square, just a short walk away.
After travelling for the last 10 days, I was tired, and arriving at Le Contrade Chiasso felt like meeting a friend I hadn’t met before. The owner was wonderful and ready to help however she could. I’m really grateful for how kind and welcoming she was. The place was spacious and spotless, with an amazing view from the terrace that felt like a dream. It’s only minutes from the beach and lots of restaurants and cafes. Such a beautiful, comfortable place to stay, one of the best B&Bs on my trip to Italy.
We made the booking at the last minute on the train from Rome, and Pietro met us at the station and drove us to the accommodation. The place was beautiful, as is Monopoli itself. Pietro was incredibly helpful, with lots of useful information and recommendations. There was a free minibar with non-alcoholic drinks. No food is served on site, but you can choose to have breakfast at a nearby restaurant. A top place, run by a top guy.
The staff were very kind and helpful, and even gave us a lift to the beach in an ape. The apartment was beautiful and newly renovated, and the location was excellent. Couldn’t ask for more!
