Masseria Garrappa

Anna gave us a warm welcome for our three-night stay. We chose a room that was a little cramped for all our luggage, but that’s on us, not the Masseria. It was clean and nice, the heater worked perfectly, and I loved the shower. Breakfast and dinner were the best, and I had the best pizza here. I hope they’ll open a few caravan pitches among the olive trees so I can visit again with my caravan 😉

We booked a night at the Masseria on the spur of the moment, but we didn’t feel very comfortable there. The welcome felt rather unfriendly, and the pool area didn’t look very well maintained. They charged us 8€ for two minibar bottles of water, while restaurants in Monopoli charge 2€ for twice as much.

The quiet setting and lovely outdoor space made this a great place to stay. We spent five days here at the end of October, two adults and our 9-year-old, and everything went smoothly. We arrived early and were able to get into our room two hours before check-in. It was very clean and tidied every day, and the bed was really comfortable. The staff were so friendly, too. Breakfast was a real highlight, with fresh and aged cheeses, eggs, salami, vegetables, and an amazing focaccia barese with their olive oil. You can ask them to make scrambled eggs fresh as well. We didn’t use the pool. If we’re back in this part of Italy, we’ll definitely try to stay here again.

We only stayed two nights, but this was one of the best masserias we’ve visited :) The owner and staff made us feel so welcome, and the food, wine, and setting were all spectacular.
