Masseria Ramasian

We spent three nights here. The setting is beautiful, the rooms are okay, and breakfast was plentiful and tasty, made by 'your mom'. But despite being surrounded by olive trees in the middle of nowhere, it was noisy. Guests in the neighboring suite stayed outside by their jacuzzi late at night, drinking wine and talking, then shouting as the wine kicked in. Nobody from the hotel came to ask them to quiet down, so I had to handle it myself. I climbed over the wall to speak to them, then emailed a complaint. The noise came through the bathroom window, which faces their area, and closing it didn’t help much. We had suite-1. The website says it comes with a private garden, but we only had the entrance shown in the photo. The rest of the garden described is shared. The large pool in the room has a window that opens onto the neighbors’ terrace and jacuzzi, so the noise comes through there too. It took an hour to fill the pool with 10cm of water, and there was no information in the room about filling it. The cook checked us in and handed over the keys. No massage services were available, despite being indicated, and there was no information about massages in the room. The website also says there is a 24/7 concierge, but that wasn’t available. The lovely cook handled check-in in the morning and checkout; the concierge arrives at 16:00.

The hosts welcomed us with a drink and made us feel like family. They were so sweet with our 4-month-old daughter, cuddling her and taking her for little walks around the property. The caretaker, Vladimiro, was a legend too, helping with our bags and sharing great local tips. The location worked perfectly for day trips: 15 minutes to Polignano a Mare, 40 minutes to Bari, 15 to Monopoli's old town, and 40 to Ostuni. They also gave us a three-page list of places to see, from beaches and towns to restaurants. Nevada, just 1km away and recommended by the hosts, was fantastic. Breakfast was amazing, with sweet and savory choices, homemade focaccia, cakes, and fruit tarts on some days, plus a barista making great cappuccinos. The huge pool was sparkling clean among peaceful olive trees. We loved the olive-based toiletries, the room was cleaned perfectly each day, and the modern, spacious design was stunning. Gated parking made us feel safe. We can’t wait to return; it was a dream stay.

We took our 7-year-old daughter, and she loved the pool area, which was almost always to ourselves. The hosts were wonderful and always ready to help. The accommodation made a great base for exploring Puglia, including Monopoli, Matera, Bari, Poliagno a Mare, and Alberobello. It felt like a little oasis, with tasteful landscaping, lovely rooms, and a fantastic pool. A real paradise, and it exceeded our expectations.

The owners were very grumpy. When I asked the manager for help, they offered none. I wouldn’t go back.
