The location is lovely, but getting here by car means entering the ZTL. We wanted to unload our car, and she didn’t report our license plate to the local police, so I’m guessing we’ll get a fine. Be careful if you’re driving. Breakfast is only a coffee and croissant, served at a café about a ten minute walk away.

We stayed for one night as a couple, and the owner was very warm and kind. She even let us park, which saved us from driving around town searching for a space. The location, right at the entrance to the historic center, is excellent, and our room was spacious with a lovely vaulted ceiling. It did feel a little damp and dim because there were no windows. The bathroom was outside the room and faced the street, so privacy was limited. Breakfast was arranged at a bar about five minutes from the property.

The room was welcoming and spacious, right at the entrance to the beautiful historic center. After nearly half a century, I’ve come back to Puglia and Monopoli, and found a lovely city that feels just the right size, with clean streets and friendly, helpful people. Virginia, the B&B owner, is delightful and very helpful too.

The apartment is a pleasant vaulted room on the ground floor, around 30m², with a bathroom, Wi-Fi and TV. It’s well placed in the historic center, and the welcome was friendly. Breakfast is at the café nearby.
