Aldo Moro

We’d read so many lovely things about the restaurant’s modern, creative cooking, so on our second stay at the charming Aldo Moro we finally booked dinner there. Loved every bit of it, and only wished we hadn’t waited until our last night. I’d happily recommend it for Italian food with a modern twist 😋

The wine list is interesting, and the setting makes for a lovely fine dining experience. The real surprise, though, is how creativity and tradition come together in such innovative takes on regional dishes 😉!

We went out of our way and traveled over an hour after hearing such great reviews, and we can confirm them. The truffle and asparagus risotto was divine, and the mare monti starter was delicious. They also brought out lots of complimentary freshly baked homemade bread and focaccia, plus an extra sample of local desserts. The wine selection was excellent, too, and the service was impeccable. We felt pampered, almost as if we were having a MICHELIN STAR experience. This is the best restaurant in Montagnana, highly recommended. Afterward, take a stroll around Montagnana, this UNESCO Medieval walled City. It’s definitely worth it. 5 stars.

There were eight of us across three generations, and we were the only lunch guests on the hottest day of the heatwave. The staff were so kind with our restless 2-year-old granddaughter, and the service was superb. They even prepared peach flambée at the table. The food was delicious and sophisticated, with all sorts of extras. In NYC, I think this place would have lines around the block. Montagnana’s charming walled city is definitely worth a trip.
