Don’t stay there! After we left, they called to say we had taken the refrigerator drawer and charged us an extra 100 €. They didn’t want to inspect the villa when we were leaving, then sprang the 100 € charge on us afterward. They’re not honest. Don’t stay with them!
I went there to do some work while they’re restoring the place. The views are fantastic, and the area is so peaceful. I can assure you it’ll be even more beautiful than before. Ideal for anyone wanting to get away from the city’s frantic, polluted pace.
We’d been looking forward to a family holiday for 10 people and arrived at around 4:00 p.m. The welcome was brief and not very warm. We knew the dog wasn’t allowed in the pool, so that wasn’t a surprise. The problems began after the handover. Some fresh bath towels were still wet, while others in different rooms had disgusting stains. They were replaced after we complained, but only two days later. The kitchen was very sparsely equipped. There were no dish towels or cleaning cloths, some appliances were broken, including the blender, the coffee maker was outdated, and there were no scissors or garbage bags. There was only one cutting board. We’ve stayed in holiday villas before and know that you sometimes need to buy a few things, but the basics should be there. The kitchen air conditioning should also have worked from the start. We asked for a replacement dishwasher and got one that worked well, with a hose running out the window. The refrigerator could have been bigger for the number of people. On the first morning we found that the toaster had a German plug, so we had to buy another one. We were also asked to get regeneration salt and rinse aid for the dishwasher so the glasses would come out somewhat clear. The vent was too hot to touch, and the oven was very old. A towel in the guest bathroom and some clothespins would have saved us another trip to the store. The lovely decorations shown in the photos weren’t really there. In the bedrooms, some blinds were broken, and the air conditioning units were a joke: noisy and barely cooling anything. We had one shower head replaced for hygiene reasons. There are no fly screens on the windows, despite what some websites say about mosquito nets. We stayed for two weeks, and housekeeping came once halfway through. A lot was missed. Bath towels and rugs were sometimes left as they were or forgotten, and bed sheets, the duvets, were missed in several rooms. We reported everything while we were there. New towels arrived at our door in a plastic bag that same day, but the rugs were missing again. The rooms generally felt dusty. There were some good points: the large pool with its whirlpool area, even though some mosaic tiles are coming loose; plenty of parking; a big kitchen with a large table in the middle; the living area; a terrace with lots of chairs and loungers; and the location. The garden seemed neglected, though. With a little work it could be a small oasis, but the bushes spoil the lovely sunset view. The house sits alone on a hill in a prime spot. We asked to have two things repaired: a wardrobe door that was broken and just leaning there without a hinge, and the patio door handle, which came off in our hands after a short time. We paid a lot and, compared with other houses in Tuscany, were disappointed with the amenities and service. On departure day, the outdoor area had already been tidied while we were still there. Leaf blowers and cleaning the trash cans weren’t exactly what we wanted before leaving. We left at 9:30 a.m., as agreed.
The location is really lovely, and the pool is even better.
A magical place, very Tuscan.
