We loved discovering Porto Ercole and had a wonderful, simple, comfortable stay at Caravaggio Camere. Ricardo, the owner, was friendly, attentive, and polite. The central location is great, close to shops and restaurants. Le Viste and La Pilleta are both beautiful beaches within an easy walk, and buses to the more distant beaches stop right outside. The bedroom was comfortable, with a closet, bedside tables, lamps, and a ceiling fan that worked perfectly for us. We also appreciated the spacious, airy bathroom. My husband and I would definitely stay again.

For five days, my partner and I stayed in this double room with a sea-view balcony. The bed was comfortable, the view was beautiful, and we appreciated getting a green sticker that let us pay less for parking. But the bathroom's sewage smell was so unpleasant and strong that it spoiled the stay. With no window and only a tiny vent, we had to leave the balcony window open, even at night. The sink was tiny and unusable.

The location is right in the center of Port'Ercole, just steps from the port, and the staff were friendly and helpful. There's a water dispenser and coffee machine at the entrance, plus a nice balcony with a view. You also get a voucher for discounted parking around the island, €2 per day in paid lots and free in white spaces, since the property has no parking. The room was hot, with no air conditioning. There was only a penguin, and the owner kindly provided a fan, but that wasn't enough to cool us in the evening. It also wasn't very clean and smelled musty, despite the air fresheners. The bathroom was extremely narrow, and the sink was impossible to use, so I had to wash my hands, face, and teeth in the bidet. The sheets, pillowcases, and towels were old and worn. To me, it seemed like the hotel/guesthouse wasn't getting much attention. With newer, cleaner linens, more care around cleaning, especially in the shower and room, and details like air conditioning, I think it could be a nice place to stay. But over €100 a night for two for this kind of stay, even on Argentario, just isn't worth it. I'm sorry.

The location is excellent, and the stay is acceptable if you don't expect too much. The car parking permit for just €2 a day is a real plus. Cleanliness, though, isn't their strong point, and our towels weren't changed during the three days. I wouldn't come back.
