The service was at a very high level, and everyone was friendly. It’s also pet-friendly. The hotel’s vertical layout is carefully thought out, and the architecture is striking. Tucked among greenery and high cliffs on the coast of Porto Ercole, it’s peaceful and incredibly romantic, with a large beach by the sea and a heated saltwater pool. There’s a fine dining restaurant, a grill, and a bar, plus an amazing range of food from grilled dishes to the Michelin restaurant. The drinks and wines are just as varied, and the sommelier really knows his stuff. We loved this place. It seems little known outside Italy, but it’s worth visiting.

WARNING. We committed nearly $10K to our honeymoon, and the hotel won’t let us cancel the room for a refund. We first contacted them five months before the visit. Our rate is more than $1,000 below the market rate they’re getting, so it seems like they could refund us and resell the room for more. We’re simply trying to visit other towns and cities in Europe because the current plan no longer works for us, but the hotel is forcing us to visit.

The water was incredibly clear, and I loved unwinding by the cliffs. Between the gardens, scenery, sea views from the suites, tennis courts, snorkeling, paddle boards, and sauna, we didn’t feel any need to leave this dreamy place. The food was really good at breakfast, lunch, and dinner. We had such a great time and didn’t want to go home. Absolutely worth the trip, and we’ll be back!

We loved our room, and the property itself is beautiful. The welcome and service were great, with a few standout staff members who made the stay worthwhile. Food and drinks were very overpriced, and the food was pretty subpar. We were underwhelmed by the spa and didn’t have a great experience at the Michelin restaurant. I expected more, but still enjoyed our time here.
