Maybe we were unlucky, since the other reviews sound more enthusiastic and the rooms shown seem nicer than the one we got. We spent two nights at the residence. When we arrived, there was nobody at reception apart from a girl who eventually gave us our room after we’d waited 40 minutes in the hot sun. We were early, but had asked if that would be okay and were told it would be. It was the last room available, which may be why we ended up on floor -2. That part was fine, but I expected a clean room that wasn’t stuffy. We also had to tidy up after ourselves and take out the trash. The bin outside was completely full, with bags falling around it. It was noisy through the night: drops from the upstairs A/C, nearby room fans, and a sound like boiling water coming from somewhere. The beds were as hard as stones. When we left, nobody was there to collect the keys or ask how our stay had been. The view and assigned parking space were the good points. At 150 euros a night, the service and facilities felt too expensive, even with the residence up on the mountain in a prestigious town.

The view was stunning, and the rooms were spacious and bright. The location is handy if you have a car, and the staff were friendly. I can’t give five stars for cleanliness, though: we found used shower nozzles from previous guests and spoiled food in a vase in the shower. We also had no water for one day. I think that may be understandable on an island. There’s a photo of the room’s view.

I haven’t stayed at the residence myself, but I wanted to share what happened for anyone considering it. The people running it, especially Renata, are unusually kind. I booked four nights for my father, who was volunteering at the Argentario Open, a busy time for hoteliers. He became unwell on check-in day and had to stay home. I called to cancel, expecting to lose the whole amount. Renata was helpful and even agreed to cancel for free. There are so many negative reviews these days without real reason, but I highly recommend this place. It’s run by serious people who understand, care about, and respect their guests, even those who have never actually stayed there.
