The staff were so friendly and helpful, and the location is easy to reach. Breakfast with that view is a real bonus.

The food and scenery at Monte Isola made for memories I’ll keep for a lifetime. It’s a lovely place to enjoy good wine and excellent food.

The trout and pumpkin dish was phenomenal, though the fixed-menu pasta was just okay and the portion was small. Food overall was a 7 out of 10, and the white wine I chose was a solid 5. It felt a bit expensive. They also forgot the water included with the fixed menu and cleared the bread without asking if I was finished. Still, not a bad experience if you’ve got money to spend, lol.

You can swim in the lake from the private access, or sit out on the garden terrace. There are electric bikes available too. The rooms are clean and comfortable, with renovated bathrooms and often great views. The restaurant serves all the fish specialties you’d expect, and the service is welcoming and friendly. A perfect hotel for a stay on the island.

The lake views, especially at sunset, were lovely, and the hotel is in a perfect spot. We had a great dining experience, with a varied menu and excellent wine advice. The staff were welcoming and knew the island well. The hotel and its team deserve a much higher star rating. We can’t fault our stay and would definitely return. Such a wonderful find.
