Camere al Santuario-Gli Arcangeli

Marianna made arrival easy with careful instructions for collecting the keys from a box by the door. She also gave us a number to call and suggested places we shouldn’t miss in Monte Sant'Angelo. The property is right in the city center, just steps from the Sanctuary, and our room, Gabriele, faced Via del Castello, a few hundred meters away. It was clean, and Marianna was friendly and courteous. A few things could be better: the basic amenity kit, the firm bed, and the room temperature. Opening the window brings in quite a bit of street noise. The stairs may be hard for some people, but otherwise these are manageable issues. Recommended.

The location is great and the rooms were clean, but service felt very sketchy. There’s no air conditioning, just a fan, so I wouldn’t suggest staying in summer. The room gets hot, and you can’t leave the balcony open because of street noise. The TV didn’t work, and toiletries amounted to one small bar of soap. Guests need clearer, more precise information during booking and arrival. Getting to the rooms means climbing a steep staircase with very high steps, so it’s not suitable for people with mobility issues or older guests, and could be difficult with children or strollers. €70 without breakfast feels far too expensive for what’s offered, and the pricing should better match the facilities.

We were allowed to keep our bags in the room while it was being cleaned for the next guests, even though we wanted to visit the Sanctuary and buy a few souvenirs before leaving. That was very kind. Marianna welcomed us on arrival and was so helpful. When we asked, she shared the number for Antonio’s taxi from Foggia to Monte Sant'Angelo. Antonio was pleasant and polite, and told us about the area and how much he loves this wonderful place. Francesco was our first contact and handled the booking. He listened to what we needed, gave us information and found us a room even though everything had already been booked for those dates. A friend and I stayed three days, July 26 to July 28, and left at noon on July 29. The room was beautiful, comfortable and clean, very close to the Sanctuary. You can walk to everything from this very central spot. Cars can enter the zone until 6 pm, which makes unloading easy. The room and bathroom are small but clean. I did find the €10 per night dog charge a bit steep.
