Hotel Butterfly

The food and wine provided were really excellent, and everyone was generally nice and helpful. There were sometimes misunderstandings with the staff, which I think came down to cultural and language barriers. The rooms were nice enough for the price, and the place was quiet, pleasant, and cheap. The main bother for many of us was that there were no mosquito screens on the windows. We got quite a few nasty bites after leaving them open at night. The A/C helped, but fresh air without mosquitoes would still be nice. I'd definitely come back if I had the choice. I honestly don't understand all the negative reviews, though there are many more positive ones on tripadvisor, so I guess some reviews are fake.

The rooms at Hotel Butterfly were nice, but the service sucked. The receptionist was unfriendly and aggressive, went into rooms without permission, and took pictures. The balconies were unsafe, so we weren't allowed to use them. We asked the service for towels, but they still didn't bring them to our rooms.

When I was there at the end of April, the room was cold. They didn't provide extra covers, and the air conditioning wasn't working. Room service wouldn't replace the towels or refill the toilet paper, for some unknown reason. The meals were cheap, but the cutlery was dirty. The staff are rude and probably underpaid.

There were holes in the bed sheets, dead bugs in the bathroom, and the bathroom supplies were only for one person. The double room was the tiniest I've ever seen. From the single bed you could see the TV, and both dinner and breakfast came on dirty dishes. A nice view and free Wi-Fi don't come close to making up for it. Edit: The owner has a habit of speaking condescendingly to anyone who leaves a bad review. I didn't confuse the hotels 😁 This one really is bad, even though it's cheap.
