Antico Borgo La Commenda

We got a lot for a reasonable price, and my friends and I loved the whole place. The hosts and staff were lovely. They serve their own wine, and the menu is extensive. We tried many amazing dishes over our stay, and the homemade pastries, local cheeses and cured meats will stick in our memories for a long time. You can have a drink by the pool in the olive garden, and lots of cats and kittens hang out in a corner by the castle. We hope to visit again sometime!

The owner and staff were always around and helpful, and there’s a large parking area. The restaurant serves very nice food, though prices are above average. A bottle of wine, on the other hand, is extremely inexpensive. We booked a two-room apartment and liked it a lot, with large rooms and a functional kitchen. The swimming pool is great, and it’s a very nice place to stay if you want to relax.

The pool was clean and well maintained, and the room had everything promised and was kept clean too. I’d certainly come back, as it’s a great place to stay. A few things need attention, though. I’m concerned about the lack of fire detection equipment: there are no fire alarms or smoke detectors. There are fire extinguishers on each floor, but they were last checked in 2009. The parking would be better with markings showing where to park, and a pathway from the parking area to the hotel would make luggage easier to carry.

We were very happy with the accommodation, and the great food and staff were an added bonus. The bathroom's condition was the only issue, though it was OK, along with the last 1.5km of the approach road.
