Continental Terme Hotel

The pool selection is the standout, with about four pools at different temperatures for swimming or unwinding. It’s a good wellness hotel, with Fang, a sauna, and a fitness room. The place is very clean, the food is good, and the staff are nice. Wi-Fi is free and fast enough for a vacation. The TV has around 10 German channels, 2 English ones, and 7 Italian ones. I find the single rooms too small, though a double room works fine for one person and is reasonably priced. Rates vary by season.

I’ve stayed here twice now, and I plan to make the trip from the United States every year. The waiters are very kind, and so are the women who clean the rooms. I have no complaints and would highly recommend the hotel.

The rooms were uncomfortably hot, so we had to leave the windows open throughout our stay. One of the rooms booked for two adults in our group of ten was so cramped that we had to turn sideways to get from the entrance into the sleeping area. That doesn’t feel suitable for a four-star hotel. Only after we raised it at reception were we told that a slightly bigger room would cost extra. The food also fell short of what we experienced on our first visit two years ago. Five of the ten people in our party had stomach problems.

Venice is easy to reach by train in about 50 minutes, with a return ticket costing 10 euros. We met up in Milan and drove for three hours, though Venice would have been the easier option. There’s also a shuttle bus, or you can use the train. Enough English is spoken at reception, the bar, and the restaurant, so you won’t have to mangle their language, though knowing a little helps. We came for a few days with my wife, sister, and brother-in-law. November brought clear blue skies and five lovely warm pools. After a late breakfast following a lie-in, we’d have a four or five course lunch, more pool or treatment time, a drink at the bar, then dinner and back to the bar. There was entertainment, or you could bring cards. The rooms were restful, warm, and cosy, and the breakfast had pretty much everything you could want, maybe except kippers. Then you could do it all again the next day. The setting is lovely and relaxing. I recommend the hotel, location, and holiday. I drove away having left my wedding ring in the room safe, and when I phoned in a panic, they were extremely helpful in retrieving it and keeping it safe.
