The spa was excellent, and its staff were friendly and accommodating. Most of the team were kind and friendly too, though the man at reception was incredibly rude when we checked in. The women on reception the next morning were wonderful. It’s a tranquil hotel about 15 minutes by car or train from Padova. The rooms are spacious, clean, and very comfortable, and half board gives you more than enough food for your stay. A really amazing hotel and spa.

Everything was good, from the clean pools to the nice weather. Breakfast was very nice, and the dinners were unbelievable. I liked it so much I’ll be back again and again.

The restaurant on the sixth floor served exceptionally fresh, high quality food. Our room was very good, with bedding that felt especially luxurious. The hotel itself is truly elegant, with attractive, lush grounds and excellent thermal pools and steam rooms. You pay more to stay at the Grand hotel Terme, but there’s a lot in return. I highly recommend it.

The bikes for rent were a real plus, and the cycling paths nearby are lovely. I also enjoyed the live music concert at the hotel. The piano dinner was a different story, as a loud conference group drowned it out and nobody asked them to quiet down. Poor management. The balcony had a partly beautiful view, but the huge car park below meant I was woken by deliveries and people coming and going from 5 am. At least there was a balcony, but the furniture was very poor, there were no flowers or decor, and nowhere to dry clothes. I slept badly too, thanks to a poor mattress and pillow in my superior room, noisy neighbors, no sound insulation, and very old furniture and doors that made awful sounds. Some reception staff were unfriendly, even a little arrogant, though others were lovely. The waiters were mostly professional and friendly, but sometimes seemed to favor some guests and ignore others. The restaurant food was generally great, but when we asked to change tables, a waiter screamed at us, then said maybe another day and forgot about it. Other guests changed tables without a problem. Tables were crammed together with people seated right beside strangers, while other areas sat empty. It felt uncomfortable and unpleasant. Breakfast was mostly disappointing, with little fruit and almost no fresh pastry. Nobody told us we could order things until we saw other guests doing it, so you have to ask for everything yourself. Before we had finished, staff started moving tables and chairs for lunch, which was noisy and uncomfortable. People were allowed to smoke around others eating at the few outside tables, which was extremely unpleasant. There was no ventilation in the lifts, corridors, or restaurant, and it felt like there was no air to breathe. The spa facilities were good, but there was no information about the water composition or how long to stay in it, and nobody available to ask. Some spa visitors made too much noise in areas meant to be quiet. Others drank from glasses by the pool or smoked in it, and management walked by without enforcing the rules. I wouldn’t book a facial or the so called lympho drainage massage. Both were just gentle touching. They offered an actual massage to make up for the wasted time and money on the lympho drainage, but only half of it was good. I wouldn’t recommend spending money on that either, though I appreciate that they partly compensated me.

There are plenty of restaurants and shops nearby, and the train station is an eight minute walk. Venice is a 45 minute train ride away for €6. Breakfast was fantastic too. It’s a real treat to visit this great hotel. The decor and furniture are older, with upscale wood finishes in the rooms, and the thermal spa is exquisite. The Thursday night swing dancing and the style of the place seemed to draw an older crowd. Truly awesome.
